Before starting the hot tub maintenance process, we have to prepare first the tub maintenance utilities such as a scrubber, a water hose, hot tub chemical cleaners, water sampling sticks, and chlorine tablets. These hot tub maintenance utilities are available in the market.

Beware of the faucet water, although it looks clean and clear, it may still contain many materials and elements which can stick to the surface of the hot tub. There are other chemicals which specially intended for use in hot water and suitable for hot tub to make the water crystal clear and free from bacteria.

The good hot tub chemical should be able to remove safely these things such as tanning lotion, natural body oil, and sweat. You need to add hot tub chemical regularly on a daily basis. Check the water first before adding the chemical to keep the levels up to the desired rate. You are suggested to check and maintain the pH level at 7.2 – 7.6. In the market, you will find many brand names of products to reach this and they will give you a clue to use.

Hot tub chemical is not only about how to keep the water clean and sanitized, but you should also need a chemical to prevent the deposit of calcium and lime from building up.  There is a special hot tub chemical to break them down and flush out of your tub.
